At IAA Mobility this week, MAHLE is present with an exhibition area in which the company will bring together fascinating future technologies and fascinating personalities.
The focus for the DS Techeetah Formula E team partner is on sim racing. The MAHLE Racing Challenge is set to produce some captivating battles.
Munich is the venue for this week’s IAA Mobility, one of the largest car shows in the world. As a sign of the times, this year’s trade fair is not only about cars, but also about the most sustainable mobility solutions possible for the future.
For MAHLE, this also includes a major facet of the motorsport of the future, sim racing. The company has been represented in the booming sim racing market for more than a year by the MAHLE RACING TEAM and has already enjoyed great success.
The partnership with Formula E multiple championship winning team DS Techeetah also forms a special link to sustainable and visionary motorsport.
MAHLE is demonstrating just how compelling sim racing can be in the public Open Space at IAA Mobility. Anyone can come to Königsplatz in Munich, without admission tickets, and experience sim racing up close and personal in the MAHLE exhibition area.
Here, they can watch sim races live, listen to interesting talks, and even take a seat and put pedal to the metal in two high-tech race simulators. These have an innovative cooling system from COM4GAMING.
The simulators are reserved for the MAHLE Racing Challenge from 16:00 to 17:00 on three days of the fair. On each day, the competition will see two dynamic personalities go head to head in sim races.
It kicked off on Wednesday with Jimmy Broadbent and Charlie Martin. He is the most influential sim racing YouTuber in the world, she is a successful racing driver, sim racer, influencer and LGBTQ ambassador.
They face off in three races at different circuits on the Assetto Corsa platform. The cars are always identical. Whoever has the most points at the end wins that day’s MAHLE Racing Challenge. If the scores are level, there is a deciding fourth race.
Mans ate far too much Schnitzel, please help.
Thanks to @MAHLE_Group for inviting me out to get sunburnt/fat. (Also to do some sim racing 😇)#MAHLESIM #MAHLERacingChallenge #MAHLE #newracing #IAAMobility2021 #ad pic.twitter.com/Z2lPlHaJXG

The next two rounds of the MAHLE Racing Challenge follow the same format. At 16:00 on Friday, racing driver Beitske Visser takes on James Rossiter, the DS Techeetah development driver, in the battle of the real racers.
The third and final round, at the same time on Saturday, is a duel between two thoroughbred sim racers, Dominik Staib from the MAHLE RACING TEAM and Alexander Voß of BS+COMPETITION.
All the participants in the MAHLE Racing Challenge will not only provide excellent entertainment in their races, but will also offer insights into their specialist areas and their relationship with sim racing in a series of fascinating talks. There is also an example of the DS Techeetah Formula E car to marvel at in the exhibition area. Touching is not only permitted, but encouraged.
It goes without saying that MAHLE is also committed to future technical subjects outside sim racing at IAA Mobility.
From Wednesday, at 14:00 on each of the five days of the fair, a MAHLE Mobility Talk will be held, dealing with issues including CO2-neutral transport options, charging technologies, business solutions, and motorsport as a catalyst for technical developments.
The talks will be streamed live on the MAHLE YouTube channel.
